Hungary's biggest rose producer, the Szőregi Virág-Dísznövény ÁFÉSZ, signed an agreement with the Danish Poulsen Roser A/S with one of the biggest and most successful rose breeders of the world.
Poulsen Roser A/S classify their roses according their use into collections.
You can learn more about the character of the roses in the collections and the available varieties. If you would like to have any other variety from Poulsen Roser A/S, we can get the propagating material and we shall be able to ship them at the end of the next production period in volume.
The history of Poulsen Roser A/S is dated back to 1878. Its head office is situated in Fredensborg, in Denmark. The firm is owned and led by Pernille Olesen, the great-granddaughter of the founder and by her husband Mogens N. Olesen.

The success of their breeding programme is characterized by the fact that their varieties give the highest proportion, 2/3 of the produced pot roses around the world, around 50 million pieces. Their own 25% of the garden rose market. One of their most successful rose is the magnificent Ingrid BergmanTM Hybrid Tea Poulsen® POULman(N), which gained several prizes on exhibitions all over the world.
The Szőregi Virág-Dísznövény ÁFÉSZ started budding 133 varieties
in 2005, in limited numbers, in order to establish the background of a considerable production.
Since both firms were about to approach the Hungarian wholesalers, retailers and rose lovers
first, so an event was organized in June 2006, where everybody, even the producers were able to
learn the detailes of the breeding philosophy and the market policy of Poulsen Roser A/S.
They aim at certain principles defined in advance, which make sure that the selection of their
varieties will cover all possible usage of roses. So, they introduced a much higher number of
categories to classify their roses than usual. These categories help the customers to find the
roses they need. The event was repeated in 2007, and the orders arrived after it resulted that
that these roses were budded in considerable amounts.
It was the first time in 2008 when the exhibition of FLORALIA-BUDAPEST
2008, was organized in Hungary. Our firm built a rose garden from the varieties of
Poulsen Roser A/S and a second prize were awarded in the "Quality of the Products" for our
display.
